Located in Penkridge, Staffordshire, DB Fisheries is a 64 acre gravel pit that has been filled to the brim with a wide range of fish. You can find Common and Mirrors aplenty, in fact, there are approximately 300 30-38 pound fish and plenty of 20s.
Carp are hand-picked from the Ed Matthews fish farm on a regular basis, ensuring that there’s always plenty of fish around.
If you would like to join the syndicate you will need to pay £350 for a 12-month ticket. The 12 month period starts on the day that you join. This means you can start fishing as soon as you become a member. To join DB Fisheries simply email them and they’ll contact you.
The lakes are stunning and are very peaceful. If you would like to fish somewhere special, then this is the place to be. You will feel like you’re fishing in the middle of nowhere and on occasion, you could be one of the only few fishing on the lake.
When it comes to facilities, there is a car park attached to the fishery which has ample room for everyone. Please note that there is no cafe so you will have to bring your own food.
Catton Park Fishery
Catton Park Fishery is located in Walton-on-Trent, Swadlincote and is located between Burton upon Trent and Lichfield near the Derbyshire and Staffordshire border. Spanning around 10 acres, the lake has an island that has a lot of reeded margins. Shrubs and trees surround the lake making it the ideal place for you to enjoy a spot of fishing.
You can become a member of the Catton Park Fishery and enjoy the small number of members who love coming here. There is a limited number of members, ensuring that the lake does not get too busy. This may well mean that you’ll have to wait before you can become a member.
If you do get the chance to become a member you will need to pay £325 per year. Members have 24-hour access to the fishery throughout the year. There is no closed season which means you can potentially fish whenever you wish to.
In 2004, the lake had over a ton of fish removed, since then, the fish have grown. Some of the fishes weigh as much as 25 pounds with some weighing more than 30 pounds. This is thanks to the extra room that they have in the water.
Catton Park Fishery is not considered to be an easy place to fish, however, there is always the chance to catch multiple fish. Species of fish include Common Carp and Mirror Carp, and the best bait to use for them is either fresh or frozen boilies.
